How do I customise Yes, No, and N/A in audits?
In Ed Controls, you can change the names and colours of the Yes, No, and N/A answers in audits and save them as your project default.
Customise answers in a template
- Go to web.edcontrols.com
- Select the project
- Open the Templates tab
- Open an existing template or create a new one
- Open a question with the Yes / No / N/A answer type
- Customise each option’s label and colour
- Example:
- Yes → To do (Green → Red)
- No → In progress (Red → Blue)
- N/A → Completed (Yellow → Green)
- Example:
These changes will now appear within that template.
Save your settings as the project default
- Change the text and/or colour of the answers
- Click Save for future use
- Choose which settings you want to save
- Confirm your selection
Your default will apply to:
- All new audits in the project
- All new templates and questions with this answer type
🛑 Note: Existing and completed audits remain unchanged.
What about existing templates?
Already have templates in your project? Some may not match your new default.
When opening or restoring a draft template, you’ll see a notification:
- You can choose to update the template to the new default
- Or keep the existing settings
Choose to keep them?
You’ll still see a message letting you update it later if needed.
Template-level flexibility
Saving a project default is entirely optional.
You can still customise each template or even each question individually if needed.
The default simply helps you stay consistent without limiting your flexibility.
