Label management
Would you like to easily maintain an overview within your project and quickly filter by labels? Then use the label management functionality in the web version of Ed Controls. With Label management, you can centrally manage labels and efficiently filter the information that is important to you.
In this article, we explain how to enable and use Label management.
Enable label management
You can enable Label management via the web version of Ed Controls. To access this functionality, you must have the role of administrator or responsible.
Follow the steps below to enable Label management:
- Open the web version of Ed Controls.
- Navigate to the project for which you want to enable Label management.
- Click the pencil icon on the project tile to open the project settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click manage labels.
- Enable label suggestions by turning on the switch.
Once this option is enabled, Label management is active for the project.
Note: The Label management functionality is available for Pro and Expert licenses.
Select module
After enabling the switch, a menu will appear.
On the left side, you will see the different modules. By default, the tickets module is displayed.
Click on tickets to open the dropdown menu. Here you can select the desired module:
- Tickets
- Audits
- Library
- Templates
Select the module for which you want to manage labels.
Add labels manually
After selecting a module, you can add labels manually.
1. Click “Type to add a new label”.
2, Enter the desired label name.
3. The label will be added to the selected module.
Import labels
Would you like to add multiple labels at the same time? On the right side, you can choose from two import options:
- Import labels via a CSV file
- Import labels from another project
Note: Importing labels from another project is only possible if you have the role support, accountable, or administrator in that project.
Tip: Do you not have a CSV file yet, or are you looking for inspiration for a label structure? We have a standard CSV file with labels available for residential construction projects.
Would you like to receive this file? Send an email to support@edcontrols.com.
After adding or importing labels, they will be displayed as suggestions when creating or editing tickets. The same principle applies to drawings, templates, and the Audit module.
Labels from other users
Users with the role accountable or support can create labels themselves. These labels are not automatically added to your configured label suggestion list. They are stored as separate labels within the selected module.
Would you like to prevent these users from adding labels themselves? Disable the option “Users are allowed to add labels”.
Add labels to the suggestion list
Would you like to add labels created by a accountable or support user to your label suggestion list after all?
Click “+ Add to list” on the right side of the relevant label. The selected label will then be added to the existing suggestion list.
Have you made all desired changes? Click “Save” to save the changes.
