Giving back

Your feedback, their smile

Every few months, Ed Controls asks you what you think of the product. From now on, every meaningful comment you leave in that short survey earns €1 for NAGU Foundation, a small charity that helps children and young women with disabilities in and around Bengaluru, India. Positive or negative, it makes no difference: your honest opinion is what counts.

Smiling children in Karnataka, India

'Nagu' means smile in Kannada, the language of the Indian state of Karnataka.

In this article:

  • ✓How your comment turns into a donation.
  • ✓What NAGU Foundation does with it.
  • ✓Why we chose NAGU.

How it works

  1. Ed Controls shows you a short survey: how likely are you to recommend us?
  2. You give a score and tell us in a few words what works and what doesn't.
  3. For every meaningful comment, we donate €1 to NAGU Foundation. An empty or placeholder comment ("ok", "-") doesn't count; a critical one does.
  4. Your feedback goes straight to our product team.

Who NAGU Foundation is

NAGU Foundation is a non-profit organisation started by a small team of young residents of Bengaluru. It began with volunteers teaching at schools for visually impaired students. There they saw how many challenges these children face every day, and the foundation has grown from there, always with one aim: to help people with disabilities become more self-reliant.

Benches made of non-biodegradable waste, donated to rural schools in Karnataka.

NAGU works in two main areas:

  • ✓Menstrual health. Custom sanitary pads, integrated with disposable underwear, for young women with an intellectual disability. They make life easier for the women and their caretakers. NAGU hands them out every month to more than 100 women across Karnataka.
  • ✓Recycling and reusing waste. School benches made from non-biodegradable waste, for rural schools that lack basic furniture. Eleven schools in Karnataka have them so far, and that waste stays out of landfill.

NAGU has also built toilets for girls at a government school in Bellary district, and runs awareness sessions at regular and special schools.

Why NAGU

Part of the Dutchview team that builds Ed Controls works in Bengaluru, and we have worked with NAGU before. With support from Dutchview Technologies, NAGU handed out notebooks to more than 650 students in the Chikkamagaluru, Bagalkot and Bellary districts.

In March 2021, Dutchview Technologies Bengaluru and NAGU Foundation gave a government primary school a water tank of its own.
